Creative HQ, Wellington’s startup base, has partnered with Deloitte to bring accounting, business advisory and taxation services to its startups.
Since 2003, Creative HQ has supported and mentored hundreds of entrepreneurs as they build startup ideas into global businesses. Creative HQ CE Stefan Korn says that one of the biggest obstacles for new startups is having to deal with finance, accounting and tax related work.
“Many first-time entrepreneurs are worried about making mistakes with their company accounts or tax obligations. As a result of the partnership with Deloitte, our entrepreneurs get top quality tax and accounting advice from day one and can focus on building the business rather than get lost in tax and accounting compliance.”
Under the partnership agreement Deloitte will provide services at no cost (or at reduced rates) to startups in Creative HQ’s incubation programme including accounting and tax compliance, financial reporting and forecast, annual tax returns and payment of taxes.
Deloitte partner Paul Pettit says Deloitte is very excited about this partnership with Creative HQ.
“The new businesses that Creative HQ supports are vitally important to our economy and we want to help them succeed by getting their accounting systems and tax structures right from the start. And as these businesses grow and change, Deloitte has the expertise and specialists that can help them with things like raising capital and expanding overseas,” says Mr Pettit.
